چکیده

We show that the gamma ray spectrum observed with the HESS array of Cherenkov telescopes coming from the Galactic Center region and identified with the source HESS J1745-290 is well fitted by the secondary photons coming from dark matter (DM) annihilation over a diffuse power law background. The amount of photons and morphology of the signal localized within a region of few parsecs, require compressed DM profiles as those resulting from baryonic contraction, which offer 10 enhancements in the signal over DM alone simulations. The fitted background from HESS data is consistent with recent Fermi-LAT observations of the same region.

X-ray Radiation from the Annihilation of Dark Matter at the Galactic Center

The existing and upcoming multiwavelength data from the Galactic Center suggest a comparative study in order to propose or rule out possible models which would explain the observations. In this paper we consider the X-ray synchrotron and the gamma-ray emission due to Kaluza Klein Dark Matter and define a set of parameters for the shape of the Dark Matter halo which is consistent with the observ...

Gamma-ray and radio tests of the e± excess from DM annihilations

PAMELA and ATIC recently reported an excess in e± cosmic rays. We show that if it is due to Dark Matter annihilations, the associated gamma-ray flux and the synchrotron emission produced by e± in the galactic magnetic field violate HESS and radio observations of the galactic center and HESS observations of dwarf Spheroidals, unless the DM density profile is significantly less steep than the ben...

Fitting the Gamma-Ray Spectrum from Dark Matter with DMFIT: GLAST and the Galactic Center Region

We study the potential of GLAST to unveil particle dark matter properties with gamma-ray observations of the Galactic center region. We present full GLAST simulations including all gamma-ray sources known to date in a region of 4 degrees around the Galactic center, in addition to the diffuse gamma-ray background and to the dark matter signal. We introduce DMFIT, a tool that allows one to fit ga...

HIGH ENERGY GAMMA RAYS Mathieu de Naurois

The Very High Energy Gamma Ray Astronomy (VHE) is a rapidly evolving branch of modern astronomy, which covers the range from about 50 GeV to several tens of TeV from the ground. In the past years, the second generation instruments firmly established a growing and varied list of sources including plerions, supernova remnants and active galactic nuclei, and started to study some fundamental quest...

The angular power spectrum of the diffuse gamma-ray background as a probe of Galactic dark matter substructure

Dark matter annihilation in Galactic substructure produces diffuse gamma-ray emission of remarkably constant intensity across the sky, and in general this signal dominates over the smooth halo signal at angles greater than a few tens of degrees from the Galactic Center. The large-scale isotropy of the emission from substructure suggests that it may be difficult to extract this Galactic dark mat...
